Ron Foster, P.E. Consulting Principal BS Mechanical Engineering University of Minnesota, 1970 Registered Electrical Engineer in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Nebraska Ron founded Design Engineers in 1983 providing the leadership for over twenty-two years. In 2006, Ron stepped down and handed the reigns over to Amy and Dwight. After some extended time off traveling with his wife, Karen, Ron returned in late 2006 as Consulting Principal doing what he enjoys most - other than golf - working on projects.

Amy Infelt, P.E., LEED AP Managing Principal BS Mechanical Engineering Iowa State University, 1986 Registered Mechanical Engineer in Iowa Amy joined Design Engineers in 1989 and made an immediate impact. Her unrelenting commitment to customer service has earned her the respect of clients and fellow employees. She balances her professional and personal life by being an every day mom to her husband Doug and three children. Amy was promoted to Managing Principal in January of 2006.

Dwight Schumm, P.E., LEED AP Managing Principal BS Mechanical Engineering Washington University, 1988 Registered Mechanical Engineer in Iowa and Illinois After several years in facilities engineering work, Dwight sought out Design Engineers as he had a calling for the HVAC industry. In 1993, Design Engineers relented and a great relationship was born. He quickly rose to the top, being named Managing Principal in January of 2006. Dwight, wife Connie and their two daughters recently expanded their family by adopting two Ethiopian children.

Jim Russell, P.E. Principal BS Electrical Engineering University of Iowa, 1995 AAS Construction Technology Kirkwood Community College, 1988 Registered Electrical Engineer in Iowa and Nevada Jim's Rags to Riches story is an inspiration to many. After starting with Design Engineers in 1988, Jim put himself through engineering school while working full-time. Jim then decided to expand his knowledge out West. Returning to Design Engineers in 2003, Jim's hard work and dedication to quality did not go unnoticed. He became a principal in 2005 and was named Electrical Department Manager. When not at work, Jim and wife Janice enjoy traveling.
