Effective July 1, 2005, Amy Infelt was appointed to the Fire Extinguishing System Contractors Advisory Board for a six year term by Kevin Techau, the Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety for the State of Iowa. This Board was established by the Iowa State Legislature to advise the State Fire Marshal on matters pertaining to the application and certification of fire extinguishing system contractors. Amy was appointed to this Board to fill the position of an individual licensed in Iowa as professional engineer or architect. As a member of this Board, Amy has been working closely with the other members of the Board to draft a set of administrative rules for the new Fire Extinguishing System Contractor Certification program. The essence of this program is the requirement for all persons that act as a fire extinguishing contractor to be certified by the State of Iowa. Once these rules are in place, Amy will continue to serve on the Board as the rules go into effect and the program becomes reality.
